5 Vasodynamics in Awake Mice We show an example study of pial surface and capillary vasodynamics measured under normal conditions (Fig. 5). A mouse was habituated to head fixation and blood flow was measured using planar movies through a chronically implanted PoRTS window (Fig. 5a). Consistent with hemodynamic coupling of blood flow to neural activity, robust arteriole dilations could be evoked by prolonged contralateral whisker stimulation with puffs of air (Fig. 5b).
